Overview

The Housing Construction Jobs Program (the Program) is a key part of the Queensland Housing Strategy’s response to the need for more social dwellings to keep pace with population growth. The Program creates jobs, drives economic growth, delivers better community outcomes and increases the supply of social housing. It does this through an innovative partnership approach with builders, developers and community housing organisations.

The Ipswich Expression of Interest (EOI)

This EOI will deal exclusively with the Ipswich region. Over the next 5 years, it's anticipated that the Program will deliver:

$103 million in investments
383 new social homes
59 full-time jobs per annum.

The Program is seeking interest from the market to deliver social housing projects in the Ipswich region.

This EOI seeks Proposals for small and medium scale residential social housing construction projects as well as those that provide opportunities for multi-year development over a number of dispersed sites.

A pipeline of development opportunities is sought with a requirement for multiple projects commencing construction between 2018-19 and 2021-22.

Projects must be on either non-government-owned freehold land, either owned by the Proponent or where the Proponent has an equitable interest (in the form of a contract or option) and capable of acquisition by the Department, or on not-for-profit sector owned land that:

have not yet commenced construction, and
have relevant approvals in place, such as development approval, planning approval, or building approval (if applicable) or with design and or concept designs (if applicable).

IMPORTANT: Please read information below to assist you in completing your SmartyGrants Expression of Interest (EOI) Response form online.

Before you begin

Welcome to the Housing Construction Jobs Program - Ipswich - Expression of Interest (EOI) online Response form.

You may begin anywhere in this EOI Response form but please ensure you save as you go.

Navigating (moving through) the EOI Response form

On every screen (page of the EOI Response form) you will find a Form Navigation contents box, this links directly to every page of the form. Click the link to jump directly to the page you want.

You can also click Next page or Previous page on the top or bottom of each page to move forward or backward through the Response form.

Saving your draft EOI Response form

If you wish to leave a partially completed application, press Save and log out. When you log back in and click on the My Submissions link at the top of the screen, you will find a list of any applications you have started or submitted. You can reopen your draft application and start where you left off.

You can also download any application, whether draft or completed, as a PDF. Click on the 'Download' button located at the bottom of the last page of the application form.

Submitting your EOI Response form

You will find a Review and Submit button at the bottom of the Navigation Panel. You need to review your application before you can submit it.

Once you have reviewed your application you can submit it by clicking on Submit at the top of the screen or on the navigation panel. You will not be able to submit your EOI Response form until all the compulsory questions are completed. These questions are marked with a red asterisk *

Once you have submitted your EOI Response form, no further editing or uploading of support materials is possible.

When you submit your EOI Response form, you will receive an automated confirmation email with a copy of your submitted EOI Response form attached. This will be sent to the email you used to register.

Please note: If you do not receive a confirmation of submission email then you should presume that your Response form has NOT been submitted.

Attachments and support documents

You may need to upload/submit attachments to support your application. This is very simple but requires you to have the documents saved on your computer, or on a storage device.

You need to allow enough time for each file to upload before trying to attach another file. Files can be up to 25MB each; however, we do recommend trying to keep files to a maximum of 5MB – the larger the file, the longer the upload time.

Using hyperlinks in the SmartyGrants EOI Response form

Please note: Before clicking on a link in the EOI Response form it is recommended that you:

Click on the Save button on top right of your screen to save your responses on this EOI form.
Right click on the Link and select Open link in new tab so that you can easily return to your EOI Response form by clicking on your original tab to the Response Form, once you have completed searching the link address.
If you prefer not to open link in a new tab, you can also click on the link and open the link address, then use the back arrow (one or more times) on top left of screen to return to your EOI Response form.

Spell check

Most internet browsers (including Firefox v2.0 and above; Safari; and Google Chrome) have spell checking facilities built in – you can switch this function on or off by adjusting your browser settings.
