Stronger Homes Grant

Submissions are now being accepted. Submissions close at 5:00PM 31 December 2025 (AEST).

The Stronger Homes Grant Program provides funding to help eligible homeowners improve the resilience of their homes against floods.

Eligible homeowners can apply to receive a Queensland Government grant of up to $10,000 to put towards resilience strategies.

Please note: This program funding is drawn from a limited pool and initial eligibility advice does not ensure that your application will be approved or that future funding will be available.

Before you begin

✔ Confirm your eligibility

  • Your house building footprint was inundated by the 2025 North and Far North Queensland floods. You will need to submit photographs of the flood damage.
  • Your home is a residence. This means your home is a house, unit, granny flat, or manufactured home that is not used primarily for business purposes.
  • You're the homeowner or property owner. You may need to provide a rates notice or register of title.
  • Your home is in an eligible local government area.

Supporting documents

You should have the following information ready to support the first stage of your application:

Gather required documents.

  • Photo of licence (front and back)
  • Photo of Medicare card
  • Copy of rates notice or certificate of title showing you are the owner
  • Photos of flood damage to the property
  • Photo of the frontage of the property from the street, including the letter box
  • Itemised contractor quote for strategies seeking funding for
  • Photos of each resilience strategy seeking funding for

Allow enough time for each file to upload before trying to attach another. Files can be up to 25MB each. We recommend trying to keep files to a maximum of 5MB.

Saving your draft application

You can start your application and come back to it later by saving before you log out. To restart your application, go to My Submissions.

Important: Save as you go through the form and check you have completed every section.

You can also download any application, both draft or completed, as a PDF.

Submitting your application

You will need to complete all compulsory questions before you can submit your application. Make sure you check all the information you’ve entered in your application before you submit it.

Important: You will not be able to change or attach extra support materials to your application after it has been submitted.

If you do not receive a confirmation of submission email, your submission has not been submitted. Email strongerhomesgrant@housing.qld.gov.au and quote your application number for support.
